One Piece: Episode 24-27: Don Krieg II
A lot of action ensues two-thirds into the arc.
A mysterious swordman from the Grand Line, Hawk Eyes Mihawk, appears out of nowhere and cuts Don Krieg’s ship into two. Apparently this is the person whom Zoro has been searching for a long time. He requests for a fight with the legend but ultimately he was too weak compared to Hawk Eyes. However, Hawk Eyes recognizes Zoro’s strong will and potential and spared his life. Damn, Hawk Eyes Mihawk is one cool master of the sword.
Sanji’s and Zeff’s past were revealed. Similar to Shank’s decision to give up his arm for Luffy, Zeff’s lost his leg whilst trying to save the young Sanji. On top of that, the two were stranded in a rocky island with no food and no water for more than twenty days. Those two may seem to dislike one another yet a strong bond holds them together like father and son.
Gin, the person Sanji showed kindness too earlier in the arc, was in fact the second-in-command for Don Krieg’s crew. When he battled with Sanji, he ended up giving up because of lack of desire to hurt the first person to show kindness to him.
One of Luffy’s strangest but effective move to beat sense into Sanji, was to destroy the fin of Baratie (and eventually the ship if still doesn’t want to listen). Although his tactics were extreme, his logic was simple. Zeff sacrificed his leg for Sanji in order for Sanji to live. Zeff wouldn’t want to see his ’son’ to die in front of him. It is Luffy-like but it is still so unlike him.
There are more but I’m too lazy to type it in and I couldn’t remember some of the names of the characters. Anyway, a few more episodes to go before the final act.
