Fullmetal Alchemist: Episode 20

Edward barely defeated the Slicer Brothers, while Al is being attacked psychologically by his opponent (Barry, the cross-dressing butcher who kidnapped Winry). Physically, Al has the advantage. However, Barry’s ruthless innuendos and suggestions are a little bit too much for the younger Elric.

The fighting sequences were not particularly impressive yet the pacing was good for a half hour episode. Al’s scenes were mostly comedic till the last couple of minutes of the episode. Ed has a new technique up his sleeves. He was able to use the method similar to Scar’s. Impressive for our alchemist.

Based on the recent episodes, the tension is building up into the juicy part of this arc. I am really anticipating the answers to all those mysteries. How does the homunculus, the Philosopher’s Stone, Scar, the Elric’s father, and the brothers themselves are all interconnected? So far, I have no clue as to what is about to happen. I’m probably not using my neurons enough. Or I’m ignoring hints because I’m too literal. Whatever.
