Gokusen: Episode 05

A day in a life of a female yakuza? Episode 05 goes on without much mention of school related activities. As Yankumi’s grandfather lays ill in the hospital, she has to act as the representative to a meeting with the head of another clan.

On with the funny bits that I have been enjoying in the previous episodes. In addition, there are some flashbacks from Yankumi’s past. I could not believe it myself when informed about the age of a couple of her subordinates. They do look quite older than her. Anyway, at least we now some reason why the subordinates possess a strong protective streak on her.

I find Yankumi in a kimono a little bit strange but Shinohomaru was mean to laugh at her. Poor Yankumi. On the bright side, Shino-san’s concern over her meeting with another family was quite sweet in its own way.
