Peace Maker Kurogane: Episode 19

Ep 19, The Sky, is simply the best episode of PMK to date. I could not take my eyes off the tv screen while watching this episode. Admittedly, there was a whole lot of sniffling on my part. Not only does it include a signficant death, it also marks the birth of a friendship between two kindred spirits. On top of that, the tragic incident is a turning point for the Shisen-gumi.
After weeks of complaining about the confusing direction of the series, I realize I shouldn’t be asking for more when I haven’t even fully understood its depths. PMK is not all about the Shinsen-gumi vs *insert villain*. As it progressed, I have come to appreciate the superb development of the characters essential to the series. All those weeks of unsatisfaction were only childish immaturity on my part. I apologize.
After viewing Naruto an hour ago, I could not help but compare the poorly crafted animation to PMK’s beautiful images. Whatever flaws PMK may have, it cannot be faulted with its consistent high quality animation.
