Twin Spica: Episode 01

I am glad I read a couple of another site’s blog entries on Twin Spica. His description on the series sparked my curiosity. This anime is rather moving and emotionally involving for a first episode. It had the right kind of surprise and characters that could pull off a sterling season.

For me, to be able to invest that much emotion in a character, in less than half an hour is a great accomplishment for any genre, especially if its the first episode. The author’s choice of palettes and character designs are more of the simplistic style yet I had no complaints on the animation. There are people who equate the artistic preference — the drawing style of the artist — for animation. For an example, there are some people who take one look at One Piece and dismiss as a series with poor animation (which I find so ridiculous). Those people who has that mentality are the ones who tend to stick with those conventional images may be turned off with Twin Spica. If the movements are fluid and graceful, that is good animation in my book. Sorry, didn’t mean to go off tangents.

In short, this series is worth the time, effort, and disk space. I may have gone overboard with the praises but I haven’t been this excited in this sleeper season. With so much expectations now, I hope I won’t be disappointed with the future episodes.
