Fullmetal Alchemist: Episode 22

Wow, I am enjoying this series even more. It’s getting darker and better by the minute.
Lust, Envy, and Gluttony tried to blackmail Ed into completing the Philosopher’s Stone by threatening to kill his younger brother Al. However, at the last second, he opted not to sacrifice human lives even if it costs his brother’s death. Probably touched by the brother’s bond plus the older Elric’s decision, Scar came to the rescue and almost saved the day. Could his change of heart halt his reckless pursuit to avenge his village? Or at least stop trying to kill Ed? His name will probably be dropped off from the growing villains list and become an ally to the brothers.
A number of powerful prisoners escaped from the laboratory and will definitely be a threat to the government. There’s Greed who seems to scare even the other homunculus, the Crimson Alchemist who went beserk and killed his allies seven years ago, a blonde female and a couple more guys that could be billed as another set of baddies.
Lieutenant Ross has become a mother figure for Ed. Her reaction to the uncontrollable transmutations of Ed was a loving and emotional gesture. I’m liking her already even just for that image.
The trio’s intention is like a twisted version of Pinocchio, all they want is to become real humans, oh, and innocent lives wasted along the way doesn’t matter. Their fairy godmother was probably the Elric’s father, whose past whereabouts are hinted by a raging Envy. If you look closely, there seem to be a fleeting look of sadness in Lust face while telling Ed their wishes. For a minute there, I almost felt sorry for them until I remembered they are sick SOBs.
Anyhow, I can’t wait for the next episode.
