HxH GI Final: Episode 02

I’m regretting the fact that I’ve read HxH’s manga. Instead of being surprised by the episodes, I’m actually comparing the scenes to the original frames. I thought I would never be one of those people who keeps comparing the manga to the anime. I need to kill this bad seed before it grows worse. Maybe I’ll feel differently once my head clears up. I’m quite groggy right about now.

Although I’m having trouble with the omission of certain scenes, it’s still an entertaining episode. I am surprised to find the gory parts excluded from the episode. I was hoping for a more interaction of Killua with some of previous examinees. However, I still love the fact that he is the only person to pass the current Hunter Exam. He grew up quite fast. Maybe I should compare the images of both Killua and Gon here in the OVA with the ones in the TV series. I wonder if there is a slight difference.

The nen-remover’s identity is revealed to the audience but not to Gon and Biske. It would get crazy once Kurapica’s nen is erased from Ryodan-leader Kuroro’s body. I’m not really into the York Shin arc but if ever they get to another arc where Kuroro and the Ryodan are involved, hopefully it won’t be too focused on Kurapica. Just a thought.

Oh, and I seriously am waiting for Hisoka.
