Aishiteru ze, Baby: Episode 01

When I first saw the preview for this series, I easily dismissed it as something I know I would not want to watch. Against my initial reaction, I downloaded and watched the first episode. To my surprise, it was an episode that I enjoyed. I suppose I was anticipating bombardment of girl-boy romantic interaction because of the animation’s resemblance to Ultra Maniac, a show I did not particularly liked. Thank goodness, the series isn’t all about romance.

The main character, Kippei, has enough personality to be likeable. However, it’s the five year old Yuzuyu whom I adored. Kippei’s siblings could potentially be hilarious characters. Kuroro who seems to secretly like Kippei but acts the opposite hasn’t had the chance to shine yet.

I’ll see how this goes in the next few episodes. If later on I get bored with this series, I’ll just keep up by reading the other anime blogs.
