Chrno Crusade: Episode 20

This series came back from the dead. The first half of Chrno Crusade was mostly decent but not outstanding but once it focused on the darker side it exploded.
In the previous episode we saw Chrno’s bloodied body transform into a raging demon after hearing the cry of his beloved Rosette. At the point one would’ve thought a power up will happen, it didn’t. In fact, in order to save Joshua from more pain and confusion he broke the pair of horns implanted on Joshua causing him to turn into stone. Rosette, on the other hand, was taken by Aion and was told of half-truths. No one was able to stop Aion but his two other comrades were defeated by Remington and one of the pursuers. After the chaos, both Joshua and Fiore were found unconscious and probably under some sort of spell. Although the city was in ruins, Satella, Azmaria, Remington, and other key characters were spared by the duel between Joshua and Chrno. However, innocent victims died from the attacks.
As if the turn of events weren’t enough, Remington revealed a startling secret. He was sent by the heavens to look over the Apostles. He may be an angel of God, yet he admitted that his weak power is not enough to stop Aion’s grand scheme.
Aion feeding Rosette false words were reminiscent of the temptation of Jesus but does she have the strong will to fight those lies? Yet at this point, she might go through Aion’s plans to which I’d say is probably just a misdirection.
Judging by the next episode’s preview, we may learn more about Chrno’s other life and the yellow-haired woman. I can’t wait, I must find the manga and spoil myself.
