Fullmetal Alchemist: Episode 26

As much as I enjoyed the past few episodes, I needed a relatively lighter fare. With the Hughes incident still fresh in mind, a lighthearted atmosphere is more than welcome.
The Elric brothers — still uninformed of Hughes fate — arrives in Rush Valley, an auto-mail Mecca. They are accompanied by Winry who unexpectedly reveals her feelings on Ed’s desire to bring back his arm and leg. She sees no reason why Ed has to retrieve his lost limbs when auto-mail is more than a satisfactory replacement. However, Ed looks at his situation differently and with good reason too. No matter how well made his artificial limbs were constructed, it is not the real thing. But as an audience member, I am with Winry.
Brief scenes with Colonel Mustang are interspersed in the episode. His short talk with Major Armstrong provided him with clues to Hughes’ death and the Elric’s whereabouts. Even armed with these hints, he knowingly acts in a political manner in order to achieve his goal.
Even with the supposedly light episode, an unexpected character appears in the series. The mysterious master who mentored the brothers in alchemy will finally be introduced. That’ll be fun.
BTW, I am liking the new music in FMA especially the ED. I may not fully understand Japanese but it does not prevent me from singing the songs.
