Fullmetal Alchemist: Episode 28

FMA Survivor? Izumi-sensei felt the need for Ed and Al to clear their heads by leaving them on a deserted island with clear instructions not to use alchemy. For the two brothers, it was not so much of a big deal since they’ve been there before in a much tighter situation. When they were only fledgling alchemists, Izumi forced them to survive the island for a whole month before becoming her apprentices. Not only that, she also gave them a riddle to solve by the time she comes back to get them.

The brothers’ stay at the island was rather shorter than their previous one yet it was enough for them to remember the basic lessons they learned before.

I always enjoyed flashbacks from the Elrics’ childhood even though it can sometime be disconcerting to see Al in his original form. Izumi’s methods may seem harsh but essential for them to have a crash course on looking at the world and alchemy differently.

BTW, There’s a big surprise for Izumi and the Elrics. Just as when they were about to leave the island, a young person appears. If you look closely at the OP, Envy is with this individual in certain shots. I could be mistaken but if I am right, could he/she/it be one of the homunculus?
