Konjiki no Gash Bell: Episode 27

Just when I thought I was getting tired of the demon of the week type of episodes, they bring out a likeable demon named Danny. He first encountered Gash when he caught him and Umagon drooling over his food. Because of the nature of their situation, he immediately pegged Gash as an enemy and attacked him. Eventually, the misunderstanding was cleared up and they became fast friends.

This kid, Danny, acts tough but he is quite a softy. His bookkeeper is an owner of a world renowned art sculpture and he acts as the bodyguard of sorts. Of course, in almost any episode with priceless art involve, chaos ensues. True enough, the sculpture was stolen and he enlists the help of Gash to find it. They were able to recover the sculpture thanks to Kiyo’s last minute arrival. Everything was going fine when one of the thieves tried to escape by stealing a massive truck for his escape. The truck went straight to the car where Gash, Kiyo, Danny, and his bookkeeper are idly talking. Gash, Kiyo, and the other bookkeeper managed to run away from the car only to find Danny lifting the heavy cargo truck. His purpose is simple, he wants to save the sculpture that is about to be crushed underneath him. He pleadingly requests Gash to use his Zakeru to save the art work even though it meant his book, which was still inside the car, will be burned into ashes. Reluctantly, Gash concedes.

I am not sure why I really like this Danny character. Perhaps, it is because he is not similar to those other ‘nice’ oh-how-cute kind of demons Gash had met from the past. This kid acts kind of cool. BTW, his seiyuu sounds so familiar. I am not sure where to place him. Help, from anyone?
