Maburaho: Finale

Someone finally subbed the finale of Maburaho. I complain about this series lots of times but I still wanted to know the ending. Just when I was expecting at least a solid conclusion, we end up with a cliffhanger of sorts. Actually, I did not mind it that much since I figure they might be setting it up for another season. But honestly, a second season of Maburaho? Isn’t that a waste of airtime? And don’t quote me on this because I am merely speculating based on the last episode. Or the producers just want to mess with our heads. Whatever. I’ll probably stay from it anyway.
However, there is one thing that made me want to strangle the author. They made me annoyed, I mean, extremely annoyed with Yamase and for a moment I actually liked Yuuna. Unbelievable, I feel dirty. Yamase’s selfish reasons in deciding against returning the ashes to Kazuki was astounding. Yuuna, Rin, and Kuriko has enough trust on Kazuki that he will indeed remember them once he becomes human again. While the trio was trying to convince Yamase to change her mind, the adults — Akai, her brother (This is the last episode yet I still forget the doctor’s name), and Hirotoki — helped stabilize Kazuki’s non-corporeal form.
Meanwhile, Yuuna and the others were able to convince Yamase after a semi-fight and dialogues. Predictably, Kazuki’s body is restored yet the producers had other plans on their minds. Sure, Kazuki retained his memories BUT he multiplied into six bodies. On top of that, a young girl joins Class 2-B and exclaims to Kazuki that she’ll be his bride. The end.
Will there be a second season? Are the producers crazy? Shall watch the show again and be able retain my sanity? Can someone turn back the time when I totally abhorred Yuuna? Honestly, I don’t know why I kept watching this show. It’s like bad habit I can’t get rid of. Of course, there were some decent episodes and funny bits here and there but overall, it did not make up the lack of consistency.
The Akai/Hirotoki connection would’ve been a great storyline if it was delved into but they were told in a hurried fashion. As I said before, Yuuna was so annoying most of the time, that I’d root for the other girls. And they ruined Yamase for me. How could they? Anyhow, I had fun complaining about Maburaho that it almost makes up for those bad episodes.
Now, if I can find a series I can regularly bash this season.
