Midori no Hibi: Episode 02

The second installment of Midori no Hibi introduces another girl who could be vying for Seiji’s affection in the long run.

At first, Ayase pegs Seiji as one of those good-for-nothing delinquents who always looks for trouble. Even when her precious behind was saved by Seiji, she stubbornly refused to thank nor acknowledge the kindness she was shown. I have a feeling that she vehemently points out Seiji’s negative qualities only to convince herself not to like this troublesome boy. Yet once she saw Seiji taking a beating not only to protect a friend but to prevent others from harm too, she could no longer deny Seiji’s good points.

If ever Seiji needs to choose a significant other, I’d give my money on Ayase mostly because it would annoy Midori. I am trying my best to like Midori but her overboard adoration for Seiji is plain irritating. She seriously needs to calm down and clear her head.

I am not quite fond of Midori but that doesn’t mean I am disliking the series. It has its cliches and flaws but the originality of the premise keeps me intrigued with the direction of the storyline. So far, Midori opted to hide her current situation to her worried mother and Seiji is trying his best to camouflage his right hand. No one in the world knows their secret but the two of them. The reaction of their family and friends are worth waiting for. Maybe.
