Naruto: Episode 78

After taking some beating last episode, Naruto fights back unleashing enormous amounts of chakra, presumably from the nine-tailed fox. To everybody’s surprise including Gaara, Naruto performed a more powerful replication technique, Taju Kage no Bunshin no Jutsu, which literally created hundreds of Naruto clones. Even though the clones were eventually beaten, they gave Gaara a healthy dose of punches and kicks. The angry and excited Gaara (he’s quite the sadist/masochist, don’t you think?) tried to kill Naruto by covering him with sand. However, the quick thinking Naruto immediately performed the hands symbols for calling Gama Obayin. And the fun begins.

The look on Sasuke-kun’s face, when he recognized how powerful Naruto has become, was priceless. Rest assured, I am not an official member of the anti-Sasuke club but admittedly, I am camping in front of their doorstep. He is a bratty kid with an attitude to match, yet I like his instinctive reaction to protect Naruto and Sakura even if it would cost him his life. Okay, he is not that bad at this point but wait till Tsunade returns to the village.

I knew I was way deep into the episode when I realized I’ve eaten half a pint of Ben&Jerry’s around the last couple of scenes, which were incredible I might add. The combination henge between Naruto and Obayin perked me up a couple of notches more.

I was not too thrilled with the new OP and ED of Naruto, mainly because I really like the previous OP/ED. Maybe it’ll grow on me eventually.
