Sailormoon Live Action: Episode 26

Maybe I have been following this series too closely but I should say that this series is churning out good episodes left and right.

As soon as Mamuro learned the identity of the princess and the whereabouts of the crystal, he was scheduled to fly out to London. According to his statements to turtle-dude Motoki, he wants to find himself once again. This time he is going to spend time away from all the drama.

Hina-san who almost pleadingly asked Mamuro to stay with her last episode held her chin high and let go of him. She understood that Mamuro cannot reciprocate her feelings. Are we seeing the last of Hina-san? I am just glad that the producers opted not to vilify her role.

Usagi-chan who was revealed to be the real princess (as if we didn’t knew from the start) still cannot remember her past life, same with the rest of the Sailor Senshis. Luna, on the other hand, was able to recall some of the tragedy the befallen Princess Serenity and Prince Endymion but it is not enough to answer all the lingering questions.

Meanwhile. On Queen Beryl side, her subordinates are still suspicious of one another. Kunzeite continues to mock Nephrite whose pride is fast crumbling down. Amongst the four, Zoizite’s intention is the most mysterious. He seemingly intends to look out for his Master Endymion but deduces that the Prince should not entangle with the Princess.

At first, I had no expectations on this live action version of the popular manga and anime. But this so-called kiddie show continually entertains me to no end. The show somehow managed to surprise its audience without entirely straying away from the original narrative. The actors playing senshis have vastly improved their fighting stances. The actor playing Kunzeite is by far the best at executing sharp quick movements when he is ready challenge anyone.

The first half of the series ended with a blue-haired child senshi facing off Dark!Ami. Is she Chibi-Usa? If my memory serves me right, she had pink hair and sailor uniform similar to Sailormoon. Or could she be a different character after all? Anyhow, she’ll probably be a big addition to the next arc of the show.
