Naruto: Episode 85

How unfortunate for Sasuke to be effortlessly beaten by the man, he vowed to kill. He spent half his life training to avenge the death of his kinsmen. However, the confrontation between him and Itachi proved to be too soon.
Naruto and Jiraiya were more than willing to help him out but Sasuke ordered them not to interfere with the hopeless battle. Reluctantly, the pair relented to his wishes. Although Itachi seemed unconcerned with Sasuke’s rage, he accepted the challenge and proceeded to beat him to a pulp. As if his physical attacks weren’t enough, he also attacked his mind using the jutsu he used against Kakashi.
Sasuke’s cries of anguish were more than enough for Naruto to act against his friend’s request. Without thinking of the consequences, Naruto quickly took initiative to attack. Halfway toward Itachi, Jiraiya used a very powerful jutsu to transform the hallway into walls of muscle. The sub I watched said it was Jiraiya’s stomach but I think it’s more like an esophagus.
Instead of fighting head on, Itachi and Kisame opted to run away. Although it was said that no one has ever escaped this jutsu, Itachi was able to use a special technique to open a doorway for them to escape. Taken aback by Itachi’s jutsu, Jiraiya realized that his opponent may not be a normal shinobi after all. Without further ado, he extracted the remnants of the black fire surrounding the opening probably for future examination.
Gai appeared only after all the chaos but managed to score a hit against Jiraiya. Too funny. They exchange information on what has been happening. I’m assuming he’ll bring back Sasuke to the village hospital.
Ero-sennin’s choice of technique for the day seems rather odd. However, taking a closer look, it may be the best solution for the situation. He knew that both Naruto and Sasuke are helpless against their attackers. Caging the pair without engaging in a close combat might be a better way to avoid any more injuries. Basing on this encounter alone, it seems that if ever Jiraiya and Itachi battle seriously, Jiraiya probably has the upper hand. To escape Jiraiya’s icky esophagus, he managed to drain most of his power that he was forced to rest. Heh, it’s too soon to give any conclusion. Either way, I’d want a fight between Naruto and Itachi. Sasuke should just stay at home and be with Sakura. No, I’m not ’shipping but they just rub me the wrong way.
As I wondered in a previous entry, I’m mystified by Itachi’s behavioral patterns. If he wanted Sasuke dead, he could’ve done so in a blink of an eye. For some reason, he wants his brother to hate him with all his heart. He probably wants to die in Sasuke’s hands. Isn’t he insane? I’m still betting that the Uchiha tragedy is more than what it seems. The I-want-to-test-my-strength crap by Itachi does not add up.
Eh, this entry is already longer than usual. Like I said before, I am probably over thinking this Uchiha nonsense.
