Sailormoon Live Action: Episode 29

OMFG! Mamuro without his shirt? It’ll take years of expensive therapy to block that image out of my head. Okay, I’m overreacting but my advice, “Stick with your regular outfits”. Enough of the nonsense.
Ami’s back to normal and gone are her trendy black outfits. She and the girls celebrate their reunion by throwing a small party plus a little karaoke. Don’t get me started with Usagi’s and Ami’s singing voices because I can be REALLY harsh.
A new student by the name of Kuriko Mio transfers to Usagi’s homeroom class. Kuriko is by far an ordinary student for she is currently a new face in entertainment whose popularity is slowly rivaling Minako’s. She attractive, athletic, and popular with her classmates that only means one thing. She’s evil….or not. While playing volleyball in Phys. Ed., she intentionally hurt Usagi then acting as if it was only an accident. She then manipulated Usagi into trusting her and betrayed her the next day by accusing her of unspeakable acts. She’s a villain alright but is she just the normal –insert a word that rhymes with sandwich– or someone more menacing. I’m choosing the latter and go with Sailor Venus’ intuition. *cough*predictable*cough*
Meanwhile at the karaoke place, senshi Luna trains Ami, Mako, and Rei with lessons for increased concentration. While she annoys the audience, Artemis arrives and delivers information from Minako telling the group to be cautious of Kuriko.
Aside from introduction of Kuriko, there are no real surprises at this time. Although I’m all for the cheesiness of the show, senshi Luna Will probably be a constant source of complaints from my part. Also, Motoki is back with his likeable geekiness. Do I smell a pseudo-romance between him and Mako? Nah, I don’t think he’s her type.
