Samurai Champloo: Episode 01

Superb animation, interesting casts, well-choreographed fight scenes, stylish designs, and beautiful sceneries. Needless to say, I’m impressed with the first episode of Samurai Champloo. If I have any complaints, it would be the OP and ED themes’ lack of oomph. While the ED theme would definitely make way to my regular playlist, I’m not too sold with the melody.

Not much to say right for now. The pilot mostly introduced the three main characters, Mugen, Jin, and Fuu. From what I’ve seen, the small group comprises of interesting individuals whose backgrounds seem to reek of juicy tales waiting to be told.

One thing though, I’m a little disconcerted hearing Mugen(or was it Jin) speaking with Zoro’s (One Piece) voice. Need to get used to it.
