Fullmetal Alchemist: Episode 34

As if the plotline is not already filled with questions, the audiences are given another set of thoughts to ponder on.
Based on Lust’s statements, Sloth has been manipulating the situation in the military. I wonder if Archer takes direct orders from her. He guaranteed the safety of both Kimblee and Tucker who would continue the research on human transmutation.
Greed seemed to find a small part of his humanity in his last moments. He showed concern for his loyal comrades who died at the hands of Gluttony and Lust. He even instructed Marta to stay by Al for her safety. He opted to fight head on with Ed even in his weakened state. Instead of running away after Ed discovered an advantageous technique, he finished his last match. He’d rather die than be sealed away in solitude. His dying words to Ed was significant information to battle the homunculus. His immense greed was apparent but what was his true purpose in kidnapping Al?
Among the body counts for the episode includes Dante (Dante’s Inferno reference?). I was naive enough to conclude that her farewell from the last episode meant for Izumi’s death when in fact, she was talking about her own. One of the most inriguing developments in this series is Laila’s affiliation to the homunculus. Is she the real Laila from the earlier episodes or another poser? On a side note, she seems so similar to Chrno Crusade’s Fi.
Now that Greed is out of the picture, Envy’s group takes up the lead role as the main antagonist for the series. I’m getting impatient to know who is giving out orders to the homunculi. And how can that person live for a century unless he or she is the last homunculus to be introduced. I need to stay away from the manga.
Hopefully, no fillers for the next episode. Upon viewing the preview, things should be interesting for Lust.
