Fullmetal Alchemist: Episode 36

Whew. I thought this would be one of those fun, non-sensical filler episodes where the storyline remains stagnant. No, siree. FMA just goes on and on and refuses to stop.
Winry receives a painful surprise in this episode. While conversing with the kids from Ishbal, she learned the identity of the person who killed her parents. So instead of tagging along the Elrics, she opted to go to Central where supposed reason was to visit Hughes and Elysia. But of course, who are we kidding? She’s there to confront Mustang.
Poor Winry. First, she was informed of Mustang’s involvement with her parents. And then she learnt of Hughes’ circumstance. What she needs the most right now is a shoulder to lean on. Too bad, the Elrics are far away trying to track down any info on the Philosopher’s stone.
I have to agree with Sugar that a light or a filler-like episode is in order. I need a breather every now and then. But I’m impressed with the series for focusing on its strong plotline. If this remains consistent throughout the entire run and grant the viewers a satisfying ending, I’d say that FMA is on its way to be a must-see anime for every fan.
