Gokusen: Finale

Just a few jealous pouts from Shin and my interest was restored once again.

I knew it, Shin is infatuated with Ojou. Of course, even with his obvious reactions, Ojou remains oblivious. She’s a little dense when it comes to this matter. But wasn’t it cute (I’m being girl-y at the moment) to see Shin pout when he realize that his teacher is dreaming about another man? If there only more scenes like that one, I would’ve been delighted.

The finale was predictably what I expected but at the same time it had some twists on its own. At least, the whole thing with the school closing down was not the whole point of this final episode.

I stand by what I mentioned in previous entries, this anime series had the potential to be one of those hysterically funny shows. However, the Ojou-saves-the-day episodic format became too boring as it nears the ending.

The rewatchability of some of the first half of the series and the finale is quite high. I know I’ll be waiting for the DVDs to come out. One cannot help but compare this to GTO, yet looking closely, they are quite different in style and design.

Even though I said that I was getting tired of this series, I feel that Ojou’s class can still provide more entertaining stories to the viewers. At least, I still have the manga and LA to read and to watch, respectively.
