Kyou Kara Mao: Episode 06

Yet another hilarious episode for MaruMa. Most notable scenes were the Yuuri-Wolfram conversation, the Gunther-Gwendal nonsense, and Wolfram’s cure for the ill.

Wolfram’s not-so-subtle clueage are quite amusing. He traveled with Yuuri with a main purpose of thwarting would-be romantic threats. One cannot help but find his lame excuses about his position on Yuuri’s accidental proposal very endearing. After another failed conversation regarding the fiance business, he locked himself in a closet to hide his embarrassment. Kawaii!! I’m getting all fangirl-y with this two.

At first, I thought the author would maintain Gwendal’s calm and brooding quality in him. However, as the story progress, he tends to become sort-of a punchline to some of the funniest bits of the series. Him and Gunther getting high on some of Gunther’s experiment’s by-product will remain one of the most unforgettable image in my mind. And what’s up with the kitten? For some odd reason, Gwendal petting the kitten is strangely disturbing.

Oh, and the plot? Yuuri manages to grab Morgif but only after overhearing a conversation between Conrad and Yozak. Yozak is one rude, tactless, and uninformed individual. He has his reasons but puh-lease, the current Mao is a fifteen year-old. Give him a break. Anyhow, Morgif needs some human souls for nutrition so the group sought some dying patients. However, Wolfram’s beauty cured every single ill person they cam in contact with. Hah, priceless images. With the unsuccessful mission, Yozak and Wolfram found an alternative solution. Yuuri will be entering a gladiator-type tournament complete with an arena and roaring fans. I think it’s he has to battle to death.

Overall, it was indeed a hilarious episode. I’m not sure about the Yuuri-Conrad pairing, though. Conrad seems more like a father or at least a guardian to Yuuri. That’s my take anyway.
