Manga: Fruits Basket speculations
Lately, I can’t seem to get enough of FuruBa, both the anime and the manga. Ever since Garten mentioned a possible connection of Kyo being responsible for Kyouko’s death, I’ve been pondering about this for quite a bit.
At first, I thought that Kyouko could’ve hit Kyo during the accident. At the beginning of the series, we were only told that Kyo disappeared for four months, right? That’s approximately how long Kyouko has been gone before Kyo and Tohru met at the Sohma house. The time frame somehow connects. However, Kyo feeling guilty for being hit by a car seem illogical. Granted, he was emotionally abused by most of his kinsmen…yet it still seem off.
But then, I realize that I’ve been assuming that the car accident meant Kyouko was driving a car. Now, what if she was hit by a car? She’s suppose to be poor so she probably doesn’t own one. What if the reason why Kyo seems guilty of causing her death is because a car swerved towards him and Kyouko managed to save him? So even though he sustained injuries from the accident, Kyouko was the one who took the most of the impact. So in his mind, he was at fault.
Does my rambling makes sense at all? I seriously need to stop thinking about the possible scenarios, it’s driving me insane.
