Shura no Toki: Episode 08

I’m shocked. I really liked this episode to the point that I’m looking forward seeing the upcoming installment.

Aside from a couple of recurring roles, we are introduced to a whole new set of characters. Musashi’s adopted sone Iori has grown into a calm and skillful swordsman. On his way to the tournament, he meets few interesting individuals in a very odd situation.

Tsubura introduces herself as a descendant of Mutsu. She travels with an old samurai named Sasuke, most likely her bodyguard or protector. According to Iori’s deduction, her claims on being Mutsu are false. Her motivation behind her actions is still unknown.

A carefree man named Takato also crosses paths with these people. He is not unlike Yakumo in terms of personality and attitude. He may be a true descendant of Mutsu. Or could he be the son of Yakumo himself? For some reason, he decided to join Tsubura and Sasuke’ journey.

If I’m not mistaken, this arc might be better than the previous one. Tsubura, a grown Iori, and Takato are very likeable characters. And the mysterious Jubeii seems more menacing than Musashi. I’m intrigued. Seriously, I can’t wait to see the next episode. How odd.
