Aishiteru ze, Baby: Episode 13

Honestly, I’m getting tired of this series. Yuzu’s mom shows up for a few minutes but then she walks away again. Okay, she admitted hitting her precious Yuzu once. I know it is a significant revelation but I’m oddly ambivalent about it. Not ambivalent of the issue but like I said, I’m losing interest. Maybe I should blame my lack of sleep.

But seriously, the main reason I keep following this series is for the romance department. Yes, Yuzu is adorable, cute, and hundreds more similar adjectives but when all is said and done, I want to see the romantic angle, dammit. Kokoro is undoubtedly an intriguing character to build upon. Kippei fits the cliche, stereotypical male lead yet likeable enough to entertain viewers. And more importantly, the chemistry between them flows naturally. What more can one ask for, the foundation is all laid down.

Let me explain further. Most titles in my regular watchlist are fighting anime filled with martial arts, pirates, samurai, and shinobi. Kyou Kara Mao is purely for eye-candy purposes. Sailormoon LA is, well, my guilty pleasure (I suppose MaruMa also fits in this category). And the way I see it, AishiBaby was supposed to be in-charge of the romance. Alas, it isn’t so.

As I was saying, I’m tired of waiting for such development. If only the show focused on more substantial storyline other than repetitive Kippei-trying-to-please-Yuzu scenario, I probably wouldn’t be complaining right now.

Oh, well. Next episode might address the whole physical abuse thing. We’ll see.
