Fullmetal Alchemist: Episode 39

FMA’s military is seriously messed up. To cover up the incident in Ishbal, they rounded up the Special Ops Division they sent whose role was to create a large scale disturbance. They imprisoned these individuals who were just following strict orders. The highly trained unit was sent to the fifth laboratory where they were used for experiments. Among those survived the horrible ordeal was Marta.
The Elric brothers finally heard some facts about the Ishbal war. And the audiences learn more about the sick nature behind the walls of the military. Someone high up the ranks connected to the Philosopher Stone is manipulating everything. Sickos.
After a relatively long time apart from his superiors, Ed found Mustang and company in Ishbal preparing for another war in Lior. Later, he requested permission to investigate Lior from Archer which was granted with certain conditions. Al was to be left behind. He also needed to disguise himself in order to blend in the crowd, this means he has to leave his amplifier. Archer handed Ed’s amplifier to Tucker to beef it up. However, Tucker seemed to recognize the engraving inside the cover. What he’ll do with it is quite worrisome.
The final scene ended in a cliffhanger. Perhaps a battle between Kimblee and Marta in the next episode? Or will Marta fail to avenge her fallen nakama?
On a sidenote, I was mindlessly surfing the web when came across some scanslated chapters from FMA. And I can’t believe I was stupid enough to take a peek at them. It is just my luck to glance at the pages of a very crucial scene in this series surrounding Mustang and Ross. (I can’t really blame anyone but my self-control.) I’ll say no more. But, argh, I was planning on finishing the fifty-two episodes of FMA before touching the manga.
