Naruto: Episode 91

The Tsunade arc is about to heat up. Tsunade predictably won against Naruto by using only a finger. Even Jiraiya admitted being hurled back a hundred feet with the same move used against him. Heh, Tsunade is freakishly strong (in a good way, of course. ^^). An argument ensues when Tsunade repeatedly insulted the importance of being a Hokage. The end result is a big bet between her and Naruto. Naruto is given seven days to master a certain high-level technique called Rasengan. The prize? Tsunade’s priceless pendant.
The other half of the episode dealt with flashbacks from Tsunade’s past. Both her little brother and her lover lost their lives in battle during wartime. Her failed attempt to heal her bloodied lover caused her severe phobia whilst looking at blood. No wonder, she views the world cynically. Her power alone failed to protect her precious loved ones. Her choice was to run away from her village to escape these horrible memories. She stopped gambling with her life.
At this point, Tsunade is at a crossroad. The enticing offer from Orochimaru tempts her vulnerable heart but at the same time Naruto’s presence reminds her dreams and innocence.
Old wounds are resurfacing and the tension is about to rise. In this divergence, which path is she going to take? Anyone wanna bet? (Sorry, bad pun. Couldn’t resist.)
BTW, I mentioned this before and I’ll repeat this again, Rasengan totally owns Chidori. To those who think otherwise, well, to each his own. This powerful technique aptly fits Naruto considering his affinity with spirals and all, right? ^^
