Pierre Bernard and his Recliner of Rage

You’ve got to be a regular viewer of Conan to recognize Pierre Bernard’s name. And majority of those whose familiar with this little skit would agree that he is freaking hilarious.

He mostly talks about things not exactly mainstream. Okay, the skit aims to poke fun at the so-called geeky stuff. But his straight face deliveries (he’s a graphic artist not an actor) usually brings me uncontrollable chuckles. I can’t help but admit that I’m familiar to eighty percent of what he is discussing.

One time he went on a tangent about Stargate which actually earned him an unexpected one-shot small role in the said series. Basically, he was one of the extras but he was at least given one line. Good for him.

I’ve been waiting all this time for him to discuss anything about anime. I wanted him to argue about the dub versus sub versions. The first part came true tonight although the second did not happen. Well, at least he knew what he was talking about. He was going off about Cartoon Network removing Cowboy Bebop from the Adult Swim line-up and replacing it with Cased Close (Detective Conan). Can’t remember exactly what he said but he basically thought there were better series that the long running show.

Anyway, I just felt the need to give a big thumbs up to him because he added another reason why I love the talk show.
