Sailormoon Live Action: Episode 38

Flashbacks dominated most of the nostalgic episode. It reminded me how the school girl romance angle hooked me on this silly series. I would even concede that despite of the limiting abilities of the actor playing Usagi, she portrays both the quirky Usagi and the solemn Serenity competently (for a show like this).
The arc is beginning to take shape. The Princess who was responsible for the destruction of the world is grieving for her Endymion. She believes that history will repeat itself. However, Usagi remembers Mamuro’s words and trusts his judgment. But all’s not well. Armed with the knowledge of the past, it seems that Mamuro has a change of plans. Taking his subordinates with him, he confronts the confused Sailormoon.
While the others are preoccupied with their respective subplots, Nephrite (or is Jadeite? I always mix up the two.) is in normal clothing but is on full-on rage mode. His constant sneering would give plenty of wrinkles when he grows old. The actor is totally overdoing it.
Pretty good, considering the recent episodes. The angst factor is kicking in and it’s fun to see the two love birds trying to struggle with their past and present identities. Oh, and Senshi!Luna is not present at the moment. That’s an added bonus.
