Shura no Toki: Episode 14

Excellent conclusion for Shura no Toki’s second arc.
Last episode, Sasuke shielded Tsubura with his own body to protect her from swords. Takato took action to help her avoid another regrettable decision. In order to escape, he grabeed the Shogun as a hostage. Everyone conceded to his wishes except for Juubei who ignored the please of his lordship. Juubei’s interference meant that the match between him and Takato finally arrives. Before the first attack, Takato revealed his Mutsu identity (as if we don’t know already). And the fight begins.
Believe me. The duel was short but incredibly sweet. It helped that most of the significant techniques were presented in slow motion. Compared to the Musashi-Yakumo fight, Takato was the decisive winner. His last move was definitely a surprise. No wonder he was called a beast.
The battle between Musashi and Yakumo is no where near as exciting or as climactic as Juubei and Takato. The main difference between the two is that in the former, Yakumo had no real desire to face Musashi. He accepted the duel mostly because he had no other choice but I think if he would’ve rather avoided it. The case is different with Takato. The second he laid an eye on Juubei, he wanted to fight this man.
Patience was indeed a virtue. However, I’m biting my nails as I await for the third arc. I don’t want to be crushed with a subpar plot.
