Aishiteru ze, Baby: Episode 16

While I had a pretty good idea on how the situation regarding abuse will be solved, I was disappointed at how easily it was resolved. Everything is forgiven but I feel like I was cheated. But then, I have to remind myself that this is not kind of series for a more reality-based approach to the solution.
As I said before, Shouta would’ve been an excellent addition to the cast. His attitude complements Yuzu’s too sweet personality. Too bad, his parents had a change of heart overnight and relocated to a ‘better place’. Eh, I adore happy endings but this is too much of a cop out. It’s hardly satisfying.
The saving grace of the episode was a glimpse of Kippei’s emotional turmoil and Kokoro’s comfort. The little scene was more than enough to emphasize the deepening bond between them. I’d say it was a moment well played (hehe, I just like ’shippy moments).
A decent episode but lacks the punch I was hoping for.
