One Piece: Episode 105

Things are heating up in OP-land. Luffy and the gang deviated from their original plan and journeyed toward Rainbase, the last oasis in Alabasta and Crocodile’s lair.
As expected, Luffy along with Ussop walked straight into a bar to buy precious water and ran into Smoker. What a luck, huh? Of all the gin joints in all the towns in all the world… *laughs* Luffy is one big trouble-magnet. Or maybe he prefers the term adventure-magnet?
On a different subject, I would like to mention the recent developments in the manga. What’s happening to our fun-lowing crew? Not that I dislike the storyline, in fact I love that Oda-sensei decided to pursue a risky plot, but it steps into an entirely new facet not seen on OP. OP, with its simplistic ideals, focuses on the importance of camaraderie, loyalty, and friendship but not exactly leadership. Luffy’s decisive choice finally establishes that even with his easy-going ways, HE is the captain of the Straw Hat pirates.
Honestly, the knowledge of the angst-y chapters slightly marred the anime experience since I keep dwelling on the inevitable-but-depressing fight between two friends. Well, for about five minutes anyway. I sort-of forgot about it once humor ensued. But then I have to blog about it and now I’m depressed again. (T_T)
