Samurai Champloo: Episode 10

What a surprise. After weeks of unsatisfying episodes, Mugen’s seemingly simple encounter with a frighteningly skilled swordsman encourages a potentially bright future for the currently weak plotline. Sure, the impressive choreography earn high marks, but its the similarities and differences of two swordsmen which made it more than fascinating.

A pot-filled *snort* episode gave a glimpse of Mugen’s character. Now, we are again given a small insight to his self-indulgent behavior. Faced with a dangerous opponent, he re-trains himself to overcome a barrier not to declare himself the best nor test his expertise but to savor a highly enjoyable encounter. Possibly, the feeling is akin to drug-induced high. ^^

Okay, I’m obsessing over the images of the bloodied hands. Somehow, they feel significant but I’m too dense to figure it out. A mark for a murderer? Or a perverse version of stigmata (I’m stretching)? Most likely, I’m only over-thinking it. Never mind, I just need sleep.
