Shura no Toki: Episode 16

How I missed this show. Episode fifteen focused on the new players of the third act. Izumi, our Mutsu guy, found himself a playmate, Ryoma Sakamoto, a strong swordsman who needs to awaken his spirit.

I thought that this Sakamoto-Izumi fight would mark the climax of this chapter. I was gladly wrong. After seeing a duel between Izumi and Okita, Sakamoto was ready to unsheathe his sword and face Izumi. Yes, the fights were too short but Izumi’s last move was plain awesome. Imagining that particular sequence in high-grade animation makes me drool.

The next episode is entitled “Shinsengumi” so I’m psyched to see how the author penned his version of the group. We’ve seen Okita and Hijikata but I wonder if we’ll have a glimpse of some of their members. Actually, I want to see Saitoh.
