Fullmetal Alchemist: Episode 48

Whoa, another switcheroo (but this time, no souls were involved ^^). Mustang’s decision to leave Havoc and forgot-his-name in Central was in fact an essential tactic for his plan. Instead of proceeding to the North as the Fuhrer ordered, he and Hawkeye remained in HQ and to mark the Furher for a possible ambush. Up north, Armstrong and the rest of Mustang’s loyal allies orchestrated a rebellion to give time for a master plan to work. With the newly appointed Brigadier General MIA, Armstrong leads the troops. Hand it to Armstrong use his *ahem* perfect built to convince his subordinates.

Meanwhile, the rest of the characters are involved in something in one way or another. Ed, Al, and Wrath witness the end of Sloth. Envy captures Al. Izumi-sensei appears. Sanji-look-alike and his brother arrives in Central. Archer returns complete with mechanized body parts. Then there’s an arrest, an ordered execution, an escape, a mysterious journal entry, a hostile encounter, and a farewell. Too much for twenty-two minutes? Nah, just a typical episode for FMA.

Mustang and Ed exchanging “Sayonara” is too worrisome. I’m already wary about the high mortality rate of the series so his attempt at taking on the Fuhrer can be a suicide mission. On top of that, Izumi opted to protect Ed and faced Archer head on. And then there’s also Ed’s remark on destroying the Philosopher stone himself which means trouble and angst awaits. I need to calm down.
