Kenran: Episode 15

How silly of me to abandon and ignore this series just when the storyline begins to develop some interesting twists.

Despite the trashing Vess’ Sea Horse suffered, she managed to survive from the wreckage mostly due to Kubernes help. Not to be mistaken, Kubernes did not lend a helping hand because of his golden heart. He had an ulterior motive to possibly use Vess as bait for the elusive Gram.

Maybe it’s because of the time spent away from this series, but I am starting to like Vess. Perhaps, now that we see the vulnerability inside her tough shell, she becomes more accessible to the audience. And the demise of the cone-shaped hairstyle immensely helped. *snort* With quick movements, she used Kubernes’ knife to cut her hair which magically transformed her into a princess…err…okay, maybe not. But her new look suits her. She didn’t even have to go to the hair salon. If only I can cut my hair the same way she did, I’d save tons of money.

Like I said, I enjoy how this sets up the succeeding episodes. Without a doubt when push comes to shove, Vess’ loyalty to Gram will emerge. But for now, she’ll side with Kubernes and learn the tricks of the trade.
