And a filler mini-arc it is. Naruto, Sasuke (in his old blue outfit), and Sakura head for Tea Country to act as a bodyguard for a competitor in some kind of Olympic-type of race. Importantly, if it helps for those who felt quite miffed with the temporary disregard for Konoha’s current plight, the episode offered a compromise. Team 7 has taken the task of a B-ranked mission without Kakashi’s aid. It’s very reminiscent of the first major arc, not only in terms of storyline but also in atmostphere. Quite frankly, I welcome it.

I dislike watching or reading anything when there’s too much conflict between individuals who are supposedly on the same side and that applies to any media. That’s probably why I dislike the latest Naruto chapters. It’s a thing. For now, eventhough there’s imminent danger for our gennins, I’m looking forward to this short break.
