Beck: Episode 03

Hmmmm…Ryuusuke and Maho’s Engrish need lots of work. And I mean LOTS of work. Aren’t they supposed to be more fluent in English than Japanese? Yet the producers hired actors not fully prepared for the role. And don’t get me started on the VAs of the supposed gaijin. If this is any indication on how things will be on future episodes, I fear for the American tour arc.

Another problem will probably be from Koyuki. While his singing voice is pretty decent, it’s hard not to cringe when he sang a few bars of Dying Breed’s Swimming Bare. Of course, the vocals seem competent (we still don’t know his range) but he still needs practice on the pronunciation.

Ahhh…such a great storyline but it has a huge flaw with its Engrish. Believe me, it pains me to constantly nitpick one of my favorite series.
