One Piece: Episode 111

Three reasons why I loved the episode: the miracle of Ero-power, the return of the kung-fu dugongs, and the sudden appearance of the duck squad. As if that’s not enough, add Nico Robin’s unexpected actions plus Luffy’s insane situation. What more can a girl ask for?
As usual, the episode mixes humor in what could’ve been a depressing installment. Luffy barely survives his encounter with the evil Crocodile with the help of Nico’s intervention. She may have developed a cynical outlook but she still retains kindness in her.
By now, every OP fan already suspects the link between Luffy and Gold Roger. Nico Robin’s remark about those who carry D. in their name only emphasized the connection. Even with the current chapters of the manga, she has yet to reveal how she acquired information on these matters.
BTW, is there some kind of animal theme for this Alabasta arc? We’ve got tons of them (may it be a real animal or just a name) roaming around the show including Crocodile, Cobra, the duck squad, the fighting dugongs, and Chopper’s perverted new friends. Oh, and there’s the one who turns into a falcon what’s-his-name. I think I forgot a couple more from Croc’s agents. My point? Nothing really, it’s just an observation.
