Samurai 7: Episode 13

Samura vs Nobuseri, round one. Who won? Nobody. Yet.

Honestly, it wasn’t much of an episode until it reached the second half of the show. The Nobuseri advanced toward the village where carefully laid out plans await them. Their frontlines began the assault only to be attacked by flying arrows from the newly trained peasants. Every thing seemed to be going well til Kanbei whipped out his sword and unflinchingly cut Kikuchiyo. I had to hit the rewind button a couple of times to make sure that I hadn’t missed anything. I thought Kikuchiyo could have abandoned one of his duties or something to incur the wrath of the almighty Kanbei-sama. Silly me. If I finished the episode, I would’ve realized the set-up. Heh, I should’ve known.
