Tactics: Episode 02

Is there anyone nice enough to explain the last scenes of the episode? I’m slightly confused. From what I understand, the “evil-ness” of the week’s ghost/spirit was indeed vanquished by Kantarou. Still, the spirit remained and resided in the body of the woman he loved. Due to the angst-y love affair, the woman decided not to have the spirit of her beloved exorcised and quietly left the village. Or something to that effect… Someone please correct me if I misinterpreted the storyline.

So far, I’m liking the title. It shows potential for a stronger storyline and for rich backstories. I’m fascinated with the Author’s take on the integration of exorcists, demons, and spirits in this era. A few clue-age being hinted like Kan-chan’s chest scar and Haruka’s memory loss are especially intriguing.

To let the characters be acquainted with the viewers, the ‘monster-of-the-week’ format will probably be around for a few more episodes. It’s expected, I suppose. No complaints from this audience member. My biggest nitpick thus far rests on that theme during the chant. That music alone can make any monster leave.
