Naruto: Episode 107

What started off as a light episode ended with a huge cliffhanger. The long-anticipated rooftop scene is upon us. Yes, angst-y Sasuke is back.

In contrast to the envious relationship between Sasuke and Naruto, the first fifteen minutes show the strong friendship between Shika and Chouji. Instead of massive testosterone fest, Shika and Chouji enjoy a healthy support system. They have absolute trust in each other. This is probably why Shikamaru reigns as one of the biggest fan favorites. To him, being a ninja is not the only thing that defines him. But when push comes to shove, he’ll max out all his resources to accomplish his goal. Heh, gotta love the guy.

As far as the Naruto-Sasuke showdown, it’s not as enjoyable as I thought it would be. I think the enjoyment factor is slightly marred by the direction it is heading.

Ah, just throw me Shikamaru episodes and I’ll be satisfied and content.
