Otogizoushi: Episode 15

Ani-Kraze works overtime and presents fans with a surprise double release of Otogi. Hmmm…must pay proper respects to the subbers.

As expected, Hikaru finds another piece of the Raikou puzzle. Her actions mimics Raikou’s from the time just before his disappearance. The pendant he had given to her seems to trigger the supernatural occurrences she has encountered. And to further Hikaru’s anxiety, stalker!Sai insists on her to forget her dearly beloved sibling. Hah, he just doesn’t want to share her with anyone.

The episode clearly suggests the Sai’s possession of inexplicable powers. How in the world can he manipulate certain illusions? So far, the viewers are not alerted of Sai’s knowledge of his past-life. Yep, I dare mentioned a taboo. His recent actions does not seem to indicate any semblance of memory from his former life centuries ago, unless he is quite aware of their history and aims to protect Hikaru from further harm. Or he could be trying to guide Hikaru on his own twisted way.

The Raikou-Sai connection is starting to confuse me. Wao’s recent suggestion of these individuals being halves of a whole is slowly becoming a feasible theory. Yet what kind of threat does this pair present to the world? Pray tell it isn’t another destruction-of-the-world scenario because I’ll go bald with all the hair-pulling that’ll happen.
