Otogizoushi: Episode 16

Matsumushi makes her way to the Tokyo arc. Her creepy life-size-doll look is gone. It’s replaced with a sweet but sad smile. Her story tells a tale of siblings, her and her younger brother, separated by a ‘gap in time’ only to be reunited after years of waiting.

Quite frankly, I’m slightly unsatisfied by the inclusion of this little side story since it does not explain the Heian!Matsumushi’s alliance to Seimei. Although I’m inclined to believe it partly suggest that her loyalty to Mansairaku was bound by blood (or something to that effect).

I suppose the primary intention of this snippet is to introduce the ‘gap in time’ theory. Raikou’s disappearance may be similar to the young girl’s scenario. And Sai probably has the ability to move through time. But why dissuade Hikaru from finding Raikou? Is Sai a guardian of some sort? Argh, too many mysteries and it’s giving me a headache.

BTW, I like the fact that our characters changes their clothes especially Hikaru. Tsuna still has the white tees but at least he matches it with other shirts. As for Sai, he’s perfect the way he is. *grins*

Question: How would Tsuna of the Heian period react to his contemporary counterpart? He turns in his rent late. He lacks a stable job. He proves to be such a cheapskate. He cooks nothing but curry. And he is terrified of heights. *snicker* Bah, at least he looks too yummy for his own good. ^_^ But seriously, he may not be as noble as warrior!Tsuna yet he never shirks away from his self-imposed responsibility of protecting Hikaru.
