Otogizoushi: Episode 19

More yummy Sai. Oh, and Tsuna too. Heh, I think it’s obvious by now, that I’ve been watching the series not because of the storyline anymore. I’m shallow. ^^
But seriously, the plot has become too simplistic and too cliched. Even the character and story advancement are almost non-existent except for occasional highlights such as this episode. Quite frankly, I’m disappointed with the developments thus far. Is it too much to ask for a brilliantly executed, pathos-filled remaining episodes? Hah, only in my dreams.
Even with these woes, the latest chapter proves to be an entertaining ride. Amongst other things, I find the wolf’s line pertaining to ‘a fragment to be returned to the moon’ quite ominous. This statement not only concerns the present plot (i.e. the chipped moon) but also indicates Hikaru’s pendant being a part of the magatama. It’ll be interesting on how significant her charm will be in the succeeding events.
Mansairaku’s ageless persona might to be linked with psycho Seimei’s reckless decision. He atones for his sins by guiding those who veers on a dangerous path. More so, his affection for Hikaru only strengthens his desire for preventing another catastrophe. Or at least, this is what it seems to be. Now, if only Hikaru accepted his offer, we might know more of the truth behind Raikou’s disappearance. Heh, it’s Tsuna’s fault.
Speaking of Tsuna, he starts to make his move on his senpai’s sister. Unfortunately for him, Hikaru is a little bit thick-headed and oblivious to his feelings. Poor guy. Is he destined only for a platonic relationship with Hikaru? As for Hikaru, something inside her seems to awaken. The mysterious Mansairaku already captures her fancy. And I believe her interest is not only limited to the strange occurrences.
