Television: West Wing marathon

Since today is Election Day, I marathoned my favorite episodes of West Wing. Without a doubt, the first couple of seasons of the said show remains one of televisions finest hours.

Aside from strong and likeable characters (who all seem to possess enviable I.Q. above 150s), the series boasts of solid scripts written with crisp and witty dialogue. On top of that, the casting director had the sense to hire such talented actors whom the audiences accept as almost the real thing. Listen to the conversations between presidential staffers exchanging smart quips and be amaze at the seemingly effortless delivery. Main and supporting characters alike ooze with integrity, idealism, and sense of duty. These individuals are those whom we’d like to have as leaders.

Unfortunately, as soon as Aaron Sorkin left the program, the show seems to be suffering of aimless direction and lack of creativity. Although highly watchable and good, it’s now relegated to just another tv show.

BTW, I was feeling quite good with myself after watching ten consecutive episodes of West Wind. But then, I was jolted back to reality and realized that Bartlett isn’t our president. *sigh*
