Just another list

Akin to the lists made by the other anime bloggers, here’s an overview of my stand on some of the current shows.

» Beck. I’ve been neglecting the show for a while now because I’m honestly dreading to hear the supposedly superb vocal talents of Koyuki. Yeah, I’m a little scared. *shudder*

» Bleach. Ahh…plushie Kon. Need I say more?

» Fantastic Children. Easily the best show I’ve seen thus far this season. On top of the brilliantly executed narratives, the choice of music captures the quiet yearning and the melancholy of the characters. And boy, Origa’s voice leaves me breathless. Now, if only Helga lightens up a bit…

» Genshiken. I know this is stupid, but I get a kick out of the titles of episodes. I’m easily amused.

» Mai-HiME. Is there something wrong with my wiring? I just can’t get into it. /shrug

» Monster. I’m tempted to read the manga and spoil myself silly.

» Naruto. I immensely dislike the direction of the current arc. Simply put, I lost interest and stopped watching Naruto.

» One Piece. Note that I only follow K-F’s releases not the current eps. To those frequent visitors of the site, you probably know my undying love for OP. I don’t know why I never get tired of this series. It’s simplistic, rather cliched, and too unrealistic. But then again no other series can boast to have a rubbery simpleton for a main character, a hilariously fugly flaming gay villain, and the coolest swordsman, ever, to be on one series.

» Otogizoushi. While this is one of my favorites this year, I’m dissatisfied with decreasing animation value and the Tokyo arc’s downward spiral. A concrete Heian arc correlation, the time warp explanation, and more Sai-Hikaru scenes are all I want to see in the last few eps. Is too much to ask? T_T

» School Rumble. There’s nothing like mindless fun.

» Tactics. For some reason, I’m drawn to this series. Nah, it’s not because of Haruka either. I think it’s that awful Charlie’s Angels’ theme. The producers probably cast some spell or charm because it’s stuck in my head. *cringes*

» Yakitate!! Ja-Pan. One of the many upsides to watching Yakitate: I get motivated to cook. Fewer take-outs. Hehe.

As for other shows, I’ll probably catch up whenever. Or maybe not…
