Genshiken: Episode 09

OMFG!! Saki is reading manga and she’s on her way up to volume ten already. Isn’t it nifty? A little more prodding from Ohno and she might agree to cosplaying.

Madarame’s inner monologue provides quite a number of laughs but he simply does not have enough charisma to sustain this audience member’s attention for half an hour. But then again, Madarame morphing into some kind of semi-ladies man (complete with long lashes, unbuttoned shirt, and abs) is almost worth an entire episode. On top of that, his fantasy!Saki (who’s very amiable unlike the *real* one) had me roaring with laughter. And the nose-hair… Ah, the nose-hair.

Wouldn’t it be wonderful with the series ending with Saki fully integrated with Genshiken? And wouldn’t it be nice if Kohsaka snaps out from his Mickey-mouse personality (you know, nice enough yet uber-dull)? Better yet, Saki should dump Kohsaka, find herself a more interesting partner, and still stay with the manga club. ^_^
