Xenosaga: Episode 01

First of all, I never played the games, I have no idea what the premise is about, and I’m not a big mecha fan. So basically, I watched the pilot of Xenosaga with no hint of expectation (well, maybe boredom). Yet surprise, surprise. While I have yet to warm up to any of the characters, the first episode brought out unexpected enjoyment.

While the direction of the storyline is shaky, we are already clued in on the ongoing battles between two forces. And can you just see the angst oozing out from the series? But I’m hoping it’s not too dark to the point where I’d have to watch the show in a secluded place.

Right now, it’s a wait-and-see period.
